About Crosby in Merseyside

Crosby is a town in Merseyside, England. It is situated on the north bank of the River Mersey, about 10 miles (16 km) east of Liverpool. The town has a population of about 55,000 people.

Crosby was founded in the 12th century as a fishing village. It became a market town in the 14th century, and was granted a charter in 1405. The town grew rapidly in the 19th century, due to the expansion of the Liverpool docks. Crosby was incorporated as a borough in 1835.

The town is best known for its beach, which is a popular tourist destination. The beach is fronted by a promenade, and there are several parks and gardens in the town. Crosby is also home to a number of notable buildings, including St Luke's Church, which is a Grade I listed building, and Crosby Hall, which is a Grade II* listed building.
